Final Supervisors Meeting Of 2012

Sponsored by:

The BRRG, yard waste, and a street name will all be up for debate at Tuesday’s Tuolumne County Supervisors meeting.

The Supervisors will vote on a proposal to increase waste disposal fees at the Earth Resource Facility operated by Waste Management. The issue was brought up at an earlier meeting, and there were concerns from the public about the impact it would have on small landscaping type businesses. A controversial aspect is that it would establish a one cubic yard minimum, and therefore eliminate the ½ cubic yard minimum. The base rate would jump from $2.50 to $7.00.

The Board will continue a public hearing on changes to the Biological Resources Review Guide (BRRG). The program is designed to be optional, and help developers get through the environmental review process on projects.

There will also be a vote on naming the new road out at the Law and Justice Center property off Old Wards Ferry Road. The Board took suggestions from county employees, and over 40 were submitted. County documents show that the finalists are Constitution Way, Corral Way, Decree Drive, Due Process Way, Equity Lane, Guardian Way, Justice Center Drive, Justice Court, Justice View Drive, Justice Vista Drive, Law and Order Lane, Veteran Lane, and Wisdom Lane.

There will also be time set aside to recognize outgoing Supervisors Dick Pland and Liz Bass. A special ceremony will be at 11:30am. It will be the final meeting for the pair.

The meeting itself will start at 9am, and it will be streamed live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
