Tuolumne, CA - Fire destroyed a home Saturday morning at 20151 Canyon View Drive in Ponderosa Hills.

CAL Fire Prevention Officer Dennis Townsend says the fire started in a bathroom and quickly spread to other areas of the structure. Two people were in the home when the fire started and they were able to escape safely.

Incident Commander Barry Rudolph estimates that the fire did $300,000 damage to the structure and $30,000 damage to the contents.

It was first called in around 5:30 am. Responding were Tuolumne County Fire, Twain Harte Fire, Tuolumne City Fire, MiWuk/Sugar Pine, CAL Fire and a breathing support unit from Columbia College.
