San Andreas, CA -- The Sunday discovery of a human leg in the Mokelumne River was followed up by the discovery of the apparent matching body.

The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department and the Stockton Police Department are now investigating the case. The body was discovered in the Mokelumne watershed between West Point and Bear Valley.

According to Sgt. Dave Seawell of the Sheriff's Department authorities are theorizing the body may be that of a 52 year old Asian male by the name of Steve Leslie Sid. He was last seen Sunday, June 7 at the Moore Creek Campground.

Initially the Stockton Police Department labeled the disappearance as suspicious in nature.

A autopsy has been scheduled for the badly decomposed body.
