Stanislaus National Forest, CA — Visitors are being warned to slow down in the Stanislaus National Forest. Forest officials want to caution visitors that roadwork is being done through June. The two roadways affected are Fraser Flat Road (Forest Road 4N01) and Cottonwood Road (Forest Road 1N04) in the Mi-Wok Ranger District of the forest.
Motorists can expect delays from the intersection of Fraser Flat Road and Highway 108 to the end of the pavement near Fraser Flat Camp Ground. Motorists face waits at Cottonwood Road from Basin Creek Bridge beginning 12 miles south of Thompson Meadow Road (Forest Road 2N13 as well).
Forest Officials say crews will be putting chip sealing on the roads to help extend the life of the existing pavement. The work on Cottonwood ends Friday. The Fraser Flat repairs will start Wednesday, May 29, and run through June 7th.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution as there could be loose gravel or oil on the roadway. Also, Forest Officials ask you to slow down around road crews for everyone’s safety.
