Sonora, CA — The Community Education program at Columbia College is accepting course proposals for the Fall 2013 term. Fall classes typically begin mid-September and continue through December.

Columbia College Community Education provides opportunities for education, enrichment, and adventure with no tests and minimal fees. The courses are not-for-credit ranging from cooking to fitness boot camp, to kid’s camps, art, dance, and ukulele classes. Excursions hosted throughout the year have included trips to sporting events, theatre shows, cultural functions, educational venues, and recreational activities. Last semester’s extended trips included Rome, New England and Italy.

Instructors typically have expertise, knowledge, and/or experience in their field. Interested instructors are asked to submit course proposal forms online at http://www.gocolumbia.edu/comed/instructorinfo.aspx

Tiffany Moore says, “Anyone with a great idea can teach a Community Education course and we welcome proposals from all walks of life.”

Community Education is a self-supporting department, which doesn’t require resources from the College’s general fund, it sustains itself through registration fees.
