Sonora, CA — The Yosemite Area Regional Transportation Service (YARTS) will be offered again this year. Beginning tomorrow, May 16th, through September 15th YARTS will run daily between Sonora, Groveland and Yosemite Valley.

Tuolumne County Transportation Council Executive Director, Darrin Grossi recently said, “We had a great year last year with 3,700 riders. June, July, and August being very strong months.”

During the shoulder seasons of May 16 to June 14 and August 19 to September 15, the bus will make one round trip per day, leaving Sonora at 8am and arriving at Yosemite Valley at 10:40am. The return bus will leave the Yosemite Visitor Center at 5:10pm. Starting June 15 through August 18, YARTS will run two buses in each direction. Morning buses will leave Sonora at 7:00 and 8:00am and return buses will leave Yosemite Visitor Center at 5:10 and 6:10pm.

Under-bus storage can be used for backpacks, luggage, bikes and family gear. Tickets can be purchased online this year or from the driver. The fare from Sonora to Yosemite is $25 for adults, $18 for seniors (62+), persons with disabilities, and additional youth (12 and younger). From Groveland the full fare is $15 and the Yosemite gate fee is covered in the cost.
