Building Activity In Columbia

Sponsored by:

Columbia, CA — Plans to build an 80 unit apartment complex will soon go before the Columbia Area Planning Commission.

The proposal by Golden State Holdings calls for six buildings to house the 80 units. In addition, there would be a clubhouse, swimming pool, detached vehicle garages, and covered carports. The project would be spread over 5.3 acres along the northwest corner of the intersection of Union Hill Road and Parrotts Ferry Road. To view a map, click here.

At the Columbia Planning Commission’s meeting on March 21, the developers will request a General Plan amendment, ordinance change, conditional use permit and a design review permit. The final say on the General Plan amendment and zoning change will be made by the Board of Supervisors, likely within the next couple of months.

Also on March 21, the Commission will take up a proposal to mount solar panels on the latest two story duplex being constructed by Habitat For Humanity. It is located at the northwest corner Damin Road and Haughton Circle. The Planning Commission meeting that night will begin at 7pm at Columbia Elementary School.
