Open Positions On County Agenda

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will take action related to the County Counsel and Tax Collector positions, as well as discuss the looming budget deficit.

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Board will vote on a contract agreement with Sarah Carillo, who has been tapped to become the next County Counsel. The contract will run through March of 2017, and pay a starting salary of $110,891. She will be eligible for pay increases following annual evaluations by the Board.

The Board will also talk about how to fill the open Treasurer/Tax Collector position, following word that Del Hodges will be retiring at the end of April. The Board may begin a wide-search, or simply make an appointment. Or, County documents show that there will be talk about an option to merge the Treasurer/Tax Collector’s Office with the Auditor-Controller’s Office, and create a new Office of Director of Finance.

The Supervisors will also hold a strategy session related to the 2013-14 budget. The County is currently projecting a $3.3 million shortfall.

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 9am in the Supervisor’s meeting room. It will be streamed in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
