A Quiet Events Weekend

After Celebrating New Year’s Day Monday night and Tuesday, there are only a few events this weekend in the Mother Lode.

One event will be the 16th annual Polar Bear Run at noon on Saturday in Jamestown. It offers bikers (motorcyclists) a 1 to 2 hour ride through the Sierra Foothills and lunch. The event raises money for local charities. More details are available in the event listing here.

The Tuolumne County Girls Fastpitch Free Coach and Player Clinic is at Summerville High School. The coaches clinic is in the morning details are in the event listing here.

Also on Saturday is the Westside/High Sierra Little League Signups at the Junction Shopping Center Starbucks. Four to fourteen year old girls and boys can signup for Little League baseball. The event listing is here.

The Big Dreams Parks and Playgrounds Community Meeting will be held at the Tuolumne Memorial Hall at 9am. The mission of Big Dreams is to build play spaces that address the needs of people with disabilities as well as their able bodies peers. On Sunday the American Legion, Post 58 hosts its monthly breakfast. The breakfast is served at the American Legion Hall from 8am to 11am at 9 N. Washington Street in Sonora. Organizers say everyone is welcome to meet with friends, make new acquaintances, and even volunteer to help with one of their projects. They raise funds for their Scholarship Programs, Boys State, The Grizzles Rifle Team, Interfaith, meals on wheels, the food bank and many others. Details are here.
