Sponsored by:

Columbia, CA – The man accused of setting fire to the Columbia House Restaurant was arraigned in a Tuolumne County Superior Court on Wednesday. 21-year-old Daenon Vincent Brewer of Tuolumne pled not guilty to arson and drug charges. Brewer is accused of going into the restaurant at the Columbia State Historic Park and setting fire to a Christmas tree inside.

The Tuolumne County District Attorney’s office says Brewer faces one count of felony arson and one count misdemeanor under the influence. A preliminary hearing has been set for January 11th at 8:15 in Department Four of the Tuolumne County Superior Court.
The Columbia House Restaurant received heavy damage, but the structure is still standing. Most of the adjacent Angelo’s Hall survived undamaged.

Brewer was on the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted list in September. He was wanted on a felony warrant for burglary and possession of controlled substances.
