Sonora, CA - Work is set to begin Monday on a $2.1 million reconstruction of J-59.

It will involve milling and resurfacing 12.6 miles from the Tuolumne-Stanislaus County line to the railroad tracks near Green Springs Rd. One lane of traffic will be closed and motorists can expect delays of around 20 minutes.

The project is funded with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds and is expected to be completed by late November.
