Fallen Firefighters Honored At Courthouse Park

Firefighters Memorial Ceremony

Sonora, CA -- Firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice throughout the country and the Mother Lode were remembered during the noon hour today at the Firefighters Memorial Ceremony at Courthouse Park.
Locally those who have fallen since 1954 were remembered. That list includes John Greeno, LarryHamilton, Eva Marie Schike, Roger Stark, Richard Boyd, Robert Lind, Richard Rogers, James Eeakim, Lyn Douglas, John Carter, Don Campbell, James Carlisle and Forster Vernon.
The three bells sounded the firefighters end of watch.
Supervisor Teri Murrison's brief comments were followed by the bagpipes, Tapps and the retiring of the colors.
The event's coordinator was Sonora Fire Chief Mike Barrows.
