California Traffic Deaths Down 70 Percent From Last Labor Day Weekend
Sacramento, CA - Updated statistics released by the California Highway Patrol show that 12 people died from traffic fatalities statewide over the recent Labor Day Weekend, while last year there were 40.
The death toll wasn't the only decrease noted by law enforcement; arrests by CHP officers of motorists driving under the influence were down 11 percent from last year. 1,417 were arrested this year, as opposed to 1,586 last year.
