Yosemite, CA -- Anyone who was planning to camp in the Crane Flat or Tamarack Flat campgrounds in Yosemite has been disappointed over the past week.

Both have been shut down due to the Big Meadow Fire. Yosemite officials are now trying to make amends.

"We have extended the closing date for Bridalveil Campground into mid-October to accommodate for the closures of Crane Flat and Tamarack Flat," says Park Ranger Kari Cobb. "We're hoping to give visitors more of an opportunity to stay in the park."

Bridalveil Campground is located on Glacier Point Rd. and was scheduled to close in mid-September. It will now stay operational until October 11th.
