Sonora, CA -- Former Tuolumne County Roads employee Thomas Fraser IV pleaded guilty to one charge of felony grand theft Wednesday afternoon in Tuolumne County Superior Court.

Originally Fraser was charged with embezzlement in April after being caught stealing county equipment.

Assistant District Attorney Michael Knowles says it is an appropriate conclusion, ?It´s an unfortunate situation in that we have a longtime employee, and through some sense of almost self entitlement, took advantage of a situation.?

Fraser will not serve any prison time, but the judge issued a $10,000 fine. He will be back in court on February 4th to learn if he will be issued a local sentence to be carried out at the Tuolumne County Jail.
