Update: Power Outages In Mother Lode

Update at 7:15 p.m.: PG&E has pushed back the repair time for a power outage affecting 95 customers in the Yankee Hill area of Tuolumne County. The new restoration time is 1 a.m. The company reports trees in contact with electrical equipment is to blame for the outage along Big Hill Road and stretching to Gunsight Road. Those customers have been without electricity since just after 3:30 p.m.

Update at 5:30 p.m.: PG&E reports a power outage in the Yankee Hill area impacting 95 customers is due to trees in contact with electrical equipment. The lights went out just after 3:30 p.m. along Big Hill Road and stretching to Gunsight Road. The estimated time of repair is 9:30 p.m.

Update at 4:30 p.m.: The lights are back on for more than 325 customers in the Camp Connell area along Ben Thorn, Shoshone and Ottawa drives off Highway 4. That outage was attributed to a downed power line.

95 customers remain in the dark in the Yankee Hill area along Big Hill Road and stretching to Gunsight Road after the lights went out just after 3:30 p.m. PG&E says a crew is on the way to the outage location to investigate.

Update at 4:10 p.m.:  PG&E reports a power outage in the Yankee Hill area impacting 95 customers. The lights went out just after 3:30 p.m. A crew is heading to the scene which encompasses Big Hill Road and stretches to Gunsight Road. No estimated time of repair has been posted.

Update at 3:45 p.m.: PG&E reports a new outage impacting 306 customers in an area that has been plagued with outages during the storm. Originally, 332 customers were without lights in the Dorrington and Camp Connell area along Ben Thorn, Shoshone and Ottawa drives off Highway 4 since just before 11 a.m. Electricity was restored to all but 26 residents along Iroquois Drive around 1:15 p.m. That outage has been blamed on a downed power line with a repair time of 5 p.m.  The company does not give an estimated repair time for the new outage.

Update at 3:10 p.m.: PG&E reports the electricity has been restored to all 110 customers along Big Foot Circle, Crow and Ottawa drives in the Camp Connell area. The company has not released a cause. However, a nearby outage that had originally impacted 332 customers and dropped to 26 around 1:15 p.m. was reported as a downed power line by the company. The repair time is 5 p.m.

Update at 2:45 p.m.: A new outage in the Camp Connell area of Calaveras County is impacting 110 customers along Big Foot Circle, Crow and Ottawa drives. A cause has not yet been determined but a crew is on scene assessing the situation, according to PG&E. There is no estimated time of repair.

Another outage in that same area had originally impacted 332 customers but that number has dropped to 26. The company reports that a crew found a downed power line and is working to restore electricity by 5 p.m.

Update at 2 p.m.: PG&E reports the cause of a power outage in Cold Springs  is the result of a tree that came in contact with electrical equipment. 106 customers have been without power since just before noon. The company has not released an estimated time of repair.

Update at 1:15 p.m.: PG&E is dealing with several Mother Lode outages. Crews have restored the power to 187 PG&E customers near Mi Wuk Village that were without electricity since before 11 a.m. What caused the outage is still under investigation, according to PG&E.

An outage that was impacting 332 customers in the areas of Camp Connell and Dorrington has now dropped to 26 PG&E customers without lights. The company reports that the crew found a downed power line and is working to restore electricity by 5 p.m.

Update at 12:30 p.m.: The nasty weather is keeping PG&E crews busy in the Mother Lode. The company reports a new outage impacting 106 customers in the Cold Springs area of Tuolumne County. A crew is on the scene assessing the problem. No estimated repair time has been given.

The lights are back on for all but 70 of the original 332 customers in the areas of Camp Connell and Dorrington. It is unclear what caused the outage or when there will be full restoration.

PG&E blames a power outage impacting187 PG&E customers near Mi Wuk Village that have been without power since just before 11 a.m. on a foreign object. However, PG&E does not detail what that object is.  There is no restoration time available at this time.
