Dead Man In Vehicle ID’d

Rail Road Flat, CA – The Calaveras County Coroner’s office has released the name of a man found dead in his vehicle outside the Rail Road Flat Elementary School last Thursday afternoon.

Deputy Coroner Keith Rosa identified the man as Michael Talley of Mountain Ranch but did not have his age. He added that Talley’s family has been notified of his death, but the cause has not yet been determined. As reported last week, several passersby called into the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department about a man slumped over the driver’s wheel of a vehicle on Railroad Flat Road. According to Rosa, after a coroner’s investigation it appears Talley died of natural causes. However, he says they are still waiting for a pathologist to perform an autopsy for the exact cause of death, which will happen sometime this week.

Additionally, sheriff’s officials commented last week that there was no evidence that would suggest any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
