Sierra Winter Weather Advisory On Thursday
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada above 4000 feet through 10 pm Thursday.
Snow levels will be around 3000 feet Thursday morning, rising to 4000 feet by Thursday night.
One to two inches of snow accumulation is likely around 3000 feet on Thursday morning. Three to seven inches of total snow is expected above 4000 feet.
Winds gusts of up to 65 mph will continue over the crest of the Sierra.
Additionally, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada above 5000 feet from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.
Snow levels will begin around 4000 feet on Friday before rising to 6000 feet on Saturday.
One to two feet of snow accumulation is expected in the highest elevations.
Snow will continue in the Sierra Nevada on Sunday with very high snow levels.
