Wind Advisory For Sierra Nevada
Tenaya Lake At Yosemite National Park
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Sierra Nevada above 7000 feet, which is in effect until 10 am Tuesday.
Winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected with gusts ranging from 40 to 50 mph. Gusts up to 60 mph are possible along the ridge tops and through and below canyons.
Locations include Tuolumne Meadows and Tenaya lake.
Additionally, a Hard Freeze Watch has been issued from late Wednesday night through Saturday morning for both the central valley and the Mother Lode below 2000 feet.
Low temperatures will be near freezing on Tuesday night. The temperatures will fall into the twenties each night from Wednesday night into Saturday morning.
Locations include Sonora, Stockton and Modesto.
Cold temperatures could kill crops and sensitive vegetation, harm pets and livestock and could cause pipes to burst.
