Another Vegetation Fire In Calaveras County

Mountain Ranch, CA — Firefighters are battling a 1/2 acre vegetation fire once again in the Mountain Ranch area.  This is the fourth vegetation fire myMotherlode.com has reported on in less than 24 hours in that area.

Cal Fire reports the flames escaped from a debris burn on the 19000 block of Kerstan Lane near Jesus Maria Road.  Cal Fire spokesperson Lisa Williams says,  “It is a slow rate of spread and no structures are threatened.”

Williams adds, although it is a burn day, it is up to residents to not burn when there are windy conditions.

Update 11:39 a.m.: Cal Fire report the forward rate of spread has been stopped. There are several resources on scene include three engines, one hand crew and two water tenders.

Update 12:15 p.m.:  Cal Fire reports the fire is contained at 1/2 an acre.
