Tuolumne County, CA --Motorists can expect another week of stop and go traffic in the Highway 108 Bypass construction area. Flaggers will be doing one-way traffic control on Highway108 from Standard Road/Mono Way to Draper Mine Road. Crews will be working on construction along that stretch of roadway starting Sunday, October 27 through Friday, November 1st from 7:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The only time crews will not be working is the three hour stretch after 4 p.m.
Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes. Caltrans offers alternative routes like Tuolumne, Soulsbyville and Phoenix Lake Roads.
The construction is part of the $54 million Highway 108 East Sonora Bypass Stage II Project that began on April 19, 2012. Caltrans has announced the roadway will officially open November 1st. Dignitaries will be on hand for a 1 pm ribbon cutting that afternoon near the construction site.
