Traffic Alert: HWY 120 Work Schedule Changes
Road Work Ahead
Groveland, CA -- Caltrans has changed when and where it will be doing construction on Highway 120 from downtown Groveland to Yosemite National Park that will cause 30 minute delays. Caltrans was originally going to be doing fog sealing next week from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on various sections of Highway 120. Those times have been pushed to later in the day meaning motorists will want to find an alternative route or face lengthy delays.
Caltrans spokesperson Angela Daprato explains the reason for the time change, "It is very important to do fog sealing during the daytime because of how it adheres to the pavement. Basically, our crews just realized it would be better to do it a little later in the day for a better seal. We ask that motorists be patient and know that they might face delays and plan for that in their commute."
Below is the work schedule as outlined by Caltrans:
• One-way traffic control on Highway 120 from Saw Mill Mountain Area/ Hardin Hill Court Sandhouse in Tuolumne County to Yosemite National Park on Monday, August 5 from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control on Highway 120 from Cherry Lake Road to Saw Mill Mountain Area/ Hardin Hill Court Sandhouse on Tuesday, August 6, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control on Highway 120 from Main Street in Groveland to Hells Hollow Road beginning Wednesday, August 7 through Thursday, August 8 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
