Fraser Flat Bridge Replacement

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne County, CA — The Stanislaus National Forest warns that some upcoming bridge work will impact visitor access in the Fraser Flat area.

A bridge replacement project will start on August 18 where Forest Road 4N01 crosses the South Fork of the Stanislaus River. There will be limited vehicle access over the bridge from August 18-September 2nd, and up to 30 minute traffic delays are possible. The bridge will then be inaccessible from September 3 – October 31.

The bridge is being replaced in order to accommodate two traffic lanes, and improve its overall safety.  The Forest Service notes that it cannot replace the bridge during the winter months, when visitor use is the lowest, because the cold temperatures would cause problems with the concrete placement. An alternative route to enter that area of Fraser Flat is by Forest Road 4N13, which can be accessed from the town of Strawberry.
