County Displays At State Fair Pays Off

The Calaveras Visitor’s Bureau exhibit display at the California State Fair, once again, received the Gold Ribbon.

Calaveras Bureau Executive Director Lisa Boulton, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

“We took home the Gold once again, which is not an easy task,” said Boulton. “A lot of hours and work went into this display, which we couldn’t be more proud of.”

Tuolumne County also won a Gold Ribbon for their display at the Fair.

“Both displays are designed by Richard Bey, which is a great testimony to his work,” said Boulton.

This was the sixth consecutive year for a Gold Ribbon for the interactive displays.

Every year, a new display must be built in order to meet the annual theme. This year’s theme was “From Our County to Your Table”. This gave the crew at the Visitors Bureau the chance to showcase the wine industry as well as the agriculture and culinary attributes.

“With our interactive VIP cards given out at the State Fair, we see each year that the time and effort of our displays pays off,” said Boulton. “We think this is a great reminder to most of the public in the Sacramento area that Calaveras County is really close to home”.

The exhibit display will be open each day of the State Fair and staffed by Calaveras County locals. The State Fair is located at the Expo Grounds east of Sacramento. It runs through Sunday July 27th.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45am.
