Cow Fire Nearing Containment

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne County, CA — Firefighters are making good progress putting out a vegetation fire in the Stanislaus National Forest.

There is a containment line around 70% of the Cow Fire. It is still around 3/4 of an acre. Air resources that had been dispatched from Columbia have now been released back to base.

The fire is near an area known as Cow Camp, approximately five miles south of the Dardanelles. It is in an isolated area, and no structures are considered in danger. Currently there are four engines assigned, two hand crews, and a Forest Service helicopter. Crews are planning to remain on scene late into the evening.
