Mark Twain Medical Center Awarding $25,000 In Grants

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA – Mark Twain Medical Center, (MTMC) through its affiliation with Dignity Health, opened its Grant program today. The Dignity Health Community Grants Program has supported nearly 50 projects totaling $275,000 in grant money since the program began in 1990.

Vice President of Ancillary Services Larry Cornish says, “We are looking to partner with other nonprofit organizations whose programs respond to the strategic priorities identified in our hospital’s Community Health Assessments and Community Benefit Plans. Grant funds are to be used to provide services to underserved populations, and must involve collaboration with other organizations along with MTMC.”

MTMC President Craig Marks says, “We would be challenged to change the world by ourselves, however, partnering with others who share our mission and vision is a great way to bring about real improvement in the healthcare system. Our Community Grants program is one way we are working with others to increase access to quality care. Organizations that receive grant funds from us are working to improve access to jobs, housing, food, education, and health care for people in low-income and minority communities.”

Each grant program candidate must submit a letter of intent by the July 18th deadline in order to be considered. Last year’s winners, in the photograph, were announced in January here.
