Tuolumne County Transit Offers Bus To Yosemite

Sponsored by:

For the third year in a row, Tuolumne County is offering daily bus service all Summer long into Yosemite National Park.

Darrin Grossi, the Executive Director for the Tuolumne County Transportation Council (TCTC) was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

The service started May 17th and will continue through September 28th. One bus is currently operating but this June a second daily bus will be added.

The Yosemite Area Regional Transportation Service (YARTS) begins in Tuolumne City (Black Oak Resort) and then stops along the way in Sonora, Jamestown and Groveland.

Under-bus storage can be used for backpacks, luggage, bikes and family gear. Tickets can be purchased online this year or from the driver.

The fare to Yosemite varies depending on pickup locations. The Yosemite entrance fees are covered in the bus ticket.

Grossi encourages local residents to utilize the bus service.

“You’ll see things as a passenger, that you’ve probably never noticed before, regardless of how many times you’ve driven to Yosemite,” said Grossi. “It’s also nice to just relax during the commute.”
