Tap Cost Could Soar
Calaveras County, CA -- Turing on the tap could be costly for Calaveras County Water District customers. The District is looking at a minimum 20 percent rate hike on monthly bills for the first year of a five year plan. The next four years would charge a lower increase. The District's finance committee says the money is needed to pay for infrastructure repairs. The plan focuses on borrowing money on a short term basis to pay for the improvements.
The five year plan will be discussed in further detail at a special Calaveras County Water District board of directors meeting, Thursday at 9:00a.m. in the board room, 423 East Saint Charles Street, San Andreas.
