Many Versions Of Internet Explorer Vulnerable

Sponsored by:

Microsoft says a security gap in Internet Explorer could allow a computer hacker to take complete control of the computer. The vulnerability affects versions 6 through 11 of the Web browser, giving complete access to a hacker of a computer if the user clicks on an internet link to a malicious website using Internet Explorer.

Microsoft Corp. says it is aware of “limited, targeted attacks” that can exploit a security gap. The company is working on a safety fix which it will provide in an upcoming monthly software update, or an out-of-cycle security update, depending on customer needs.

MyMotherLode.com recommends using the web browsers Firefox or Chrome until the issue is resolved. Links and more information are in our help section.  A division of the U.S. Homeland Security Department recommends users download a security toolkit from Microsoft or use another browser until an update becomes available.
