Expert Advice: Change Your Passwords

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Mother Lode Internet (MLI) has released information regarding what to do in response to a far reaching security breach called Heartbleed. MLI Owner, Ben Hulet, released a statement saying “We do not have any reason to believe that we, or any of our users, were targeted.”

MyMotherLode.com does not use OpenSSL, which was found to have a vulnerability that could have compromised millions of user passwords.

It is believed that passwords from email account providers such as Gmail and Yahoo and social network sites such as Facebook, Pinterest and Tumblr could be stolen easily. Now that the Heartbleed vulnerability is known, most companies have taken steps to secure password information. Companies have added more steps to the sign-in process and other precautions to ensure the information stays secure.

The Ask-A-Tech Article “Protect yourself against the Heartbleed Bug: Change Your Passwords!” is here. It is posted at the bottom of the Sci/Tech section of myMotherLode.com here.
