BLM Spokesperson David Christy outlines the big issues the Council will deal with in the Mother Lode one of them is the Wild land urban interface project. Christy says, "that management probably is one of the biggest ones we're facing followed closely by recreation demand. As more people move into the Foothills they want to find more places to play."

The Council has 12 members that serve 3 year terms. There are six positions open. The categories are listed below:

  • Category One (three positions) - Public land ranchers and representatives of organizations associated with energy and mineral development, the timber industry, transportation or rights-of-way, off-highway vehicle use, and commercial recreation
