Two Winter Storms Will Affect Sierra Nevada

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada above 6000 feet, through 4 PM Thursday.

Snow levels are near 7000 feet but will lower to 5500 feet by Thursday morning.

Snow accumulations of five to twelve inches are expected above 7000 feet.

Winds of ten to thirty mph will continue with gusts up to eighty mph over the crest of the Sierra.

Additionally, a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the Sierra Nevada above 6000 feet from late Thursday night through late Saturday night.

Snow accumulations of one to two feet are expected above 6000 feet with the second storm.

Winds of twenty to thirty mph are likely with gusts up to eighty mph over the crest of the Sierra.
