Twain Heart, CA -- The family of Major Lucas Gruenther has set up a memorial website in his honor. There are two pages and 60 comments so far on his rememberance wall. Gruenther, was selected for promotion to major last year and was promoted posthumously.
Gruenther was a 1999 Summerville High School graduate. His plane went down near the Italian coast, an investigation is pending.
Many family, friends, and supporters have asked how and what they can do to help. The family has posted a mailing address where letters can be sent. The letters will be shared with his daughter Serene who was not born yet at the time of his death.
The family is still in the planning stages for the memorial service. A statement posted by Alex Gruenther says, "Once again thank you for all your support, it has been awesome!"
