Supervisors Discuss Drought

Sonora, CA – The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors will get an update on the drought situation at next week’s meeting.

Representatives from the Tuolumne Utilities District, the Groveland Communities Services District and the Twain Harte Community Services District will have the latest information on the water crisis.

On Tuesday, the Board will vote on the fiscal year 2014-15 through 2018-19 budget forecast and the fiscal year 2014-15 budget development strategies. In addition, the Supervisors will consider whether to approve an agreement with the Trinity Services Group, Inc. to provide food and commissary services for the jail at an annual cost of nearly $410,000.


The County will also vote whether to send a letter to Governor Jerry Brown calling for the restoration of the Agricultural Education Incentive Grant Program for 2014-15 in the state budget.

The board will go into closed session to discuss the controversial Central Sierra Environmental Resource Center’s (CSERC) land-use lawsuit against the county in regards to the Blue Mountain Minerals expansion.


In addition, the Tuolumne County Commission on Aging will give a presentation on its 2013 achievements and goals for 2014.


Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 9 am in the Supervisors meeting room.
