Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA — Three vehicles were involved in a wreck that left one Angels Camp woman dead and another suffered major injuries. Yesterday’s crash happened just before 9 p.m. on Rawhide Road east of French Flat Road near Jamestown.

The CHP has not released the name of the 44-year-old woman killed in the crash, pending notification of her family. She was a passenger in a 1981 BMW driven by 60-year-old Elizabeth Quinn of Angels Camp. The CHP reports Quinn was traveling northbound on Rawhide Road, and for unknown reasons crossed the double-yellow lines, and smashed head-on into a 1998 Dodge truck driven by 60-year-old Neil Lemmon of Salt Lake City, Utah. Another 1998 Dodge pickup driven by 59-year-old David Straub of Jamestown was unable to stop and smashed into the rear end of Lemmon’s truck.

The CHP reports the woman succumbed to her injuries in the ambulance on the way to Sonora Regional Medical Center. Quinn was also taken to the hospital suffering from head injuries. Lemmon suffered a cut to his thumb and Straub had no injuries.
