MyMotherLode.com conducted two polls related to the Vision Sonora project. The Vision Sonora project is funded by a Caltrans Grant to determine what to do for downtown Sonora and the highway 108 and 49 corridors that lead into Sonora.

The first informal poll question was "Downtown Sonora: What would you like to see improved?" The choices were Parking, Traffic, Flowers-Trees, Store Fronts/Buildings, Bike Lanes and other. Parking received the highest number of votes with 36 percent over all and Traffic was second with 30 percent. Other topics came up during last week's Community Visioning Week. According to City of Sonora Community Development Director, Rachelle Kellogg those topics were more outdoor dining, better walk ability, and preservation of historic buildings.

The other question was "How often do you usually visit Downtown Sonora?" MyMotherLode.com features local news but is available internationally thus the results are interesting. The votes were nearly tied for "Monthly" and "Yearly" with each garnering 28 percent. A few times a week had 24 percent and weekdays (presumably those who work downtown) 11 percent. Five percent visit Sonora mostly on weekends.

The current poll asks "What is the Main Reason You Visit Downtown Sonora?". Past poll results are available here.
