Angels Camp, CA - That's just one of the tasks the Angels Camp City Council will take on at its first meeting of 2013. The newly elected council will elect both its Mayor and Vice Mayor and a fifth council member. The Mayor and Vice mayor will be chosen from the council members and must have been on the Council for at least a year.

In the November elections, three council seats were open, but only two people ran and were elected. To fill that vacancy, the council will interview candidates at the meeting.

City Administrator Michael McHatten says, "The major criteria for the job are being a resident of Angels Camp and a registered voter. The council members will have a series of questions to ask the applicants including what they would keep in place, do differently or change. From there they will pick one of the three candidates."

Those applicants are:

  • Walter Gloskowski
  • Andrew Ganucci
  • Lambert "Bert" Sobon

Also, the oath of will be given to incoming Council Member Wes Kulm, Police officer Darien Wilson and the newly picked council member.
