Fatal Car Crash
Chinese Camp, CA - The CHP reports a man was killed after he was ejected from his car in a crash near Chinese Camp. The 49 year old man from Fremont, California was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened Saturday just after 4 p.m. on Shawmut Road near Highway 120. The CHP says the driver was turning on to Shawmut Road from Highway 120 at a high rate of speed. He lost control of the 1961 Volkswagen. The car flipped several times and landed on the roof.
The driver was ejected from the car. The CHP says the man was not wearing his seatbelt. They say it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
