Sacramento, CA - Small, nonfarm businesses in 30 counties in California, including Tuolumne and Calaveras, are now eligible to apply for federal disaster loans. Those loans are being offered by the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and can go up to two million dollars. SBA officials say the loans are to help offset financial losses caused by the 2012 drought.

SBA Spokesperson Charmagne Husman says, "There is no cost for the loan or an application fee. The interest rate is three percent for private non-profits and four percent for the business owners. Also, we can extend the loan up to 30 years to make the payment more affordable."

The deadline to apply for a loan is August 2013.

Below is a list of all the counties eligible for the loans:

Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Lake, Los Angeles, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Benito, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tuolumne, Ventura and Yolo
