A Desperate Need for Volunteers
Jamestown, CA -- Just like Santa needs his Elves, the Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency (ATCAA) needs volunteers to get food out to all the families for the holidays and beyond. Food Bank Officials say there are about 40 positions that need to be filled including truck drivers and people to hand out food.
ATCAA Director Lee Kimble says, "There are three employees and there are about 4,000 families needing assistance, so without the volunteers none of this happens. Even children can help carry groceries or sort bags. Anybody interested in lending a helping hand can call the food bank at (209) -984-3960."
Kimble says the demand for donated food is at an all time high and will continue into next year with our poor economy and higher fuel prices.
