A Winter Weather Advisory has been extended for the Sierra Nevada above 5000 feet through Tuesday 10 AM.

Snow levels range from 3500 through 6000 feet.

Two to four inches of snow accumulation is expected above 4000 feet. Half a foot to one foot of snow is likely above 6000 feet.

Winds will gust up to fifty-five mph over the crest of the Sierra.

Patchy dense fog has formed in several foothill and mountain locations. Be prepared for rapidly changing visibilities in fog.

According to the National Weather Service, cold air will move into the region from Tuesday night through Thursday.

In the central valley, temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday mornings will range from the upper 20's to 34 degrees.

Another storm system will impact the Sierra from Thursday evening into Friday.

Unsettled weather will continue through the weekend.
