Tuolumne County, CA - Two local leaders will be stepping down from the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors in January and will leave behind a combined 24 year legacy. This Tuesday the board will recognize Liz Bass and Dick Pland at its meeting.

Bass has 40 years of public service including eight years on the Board of Supervisors for District 1. Pland has 46 years of service with 30 years as a member of Tuolumne County Board of Education and 16 years as the District 5 Supervisor.

The Board will recognize Bass for her many accomplishments including hosting her very own "Talk Back" radio show and becoming the first female Mayor of Sonora. Pland will be honored for chairing numerous board committees aimed at improving county land use and regulatory policies, establishing the Board's Natural Resources Committee, and helping to create the Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority.

The 11:30 a.m. Board of Supervisors meeting is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
