The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office says an inmate allegedly tried to escape from her jail cell.

Sgt. Jeff Wilson says jail staffers received an anonymous phone call this week stating that Allyssa Ann Jensen, 23, had made a hole in the bathroom area of her cell. Deputies investigated, and found a hole that was big enough for a "small adult" to fit through. It was located above the shower. Sgt. Wilson says the damage is estimated to be, "several hundred dollars."

Jensen is currently awaiting hearings for several felony charges, and now faces a new felony charge for trying to escape, and a misdemeanor for damaging the jail property. Jensen claimed that the hole was there when she arrived, and denies that she was trying to escape.

Jensen was also in the news back in July. Click here to view the earlier story.
