Calaveras County, CA -- We are under a wind advisory and a flood watch and more gusty and wet weather is due to hit this evening. Calaveras County has several locations where residents can get pre-filled sand bags and apparently they are going fast.

"There were initially 7,000 bags distributed to locations throughout the county and we have refilled all eight locations several times. When we fill the bags, residents are more than happy to take them," says Calaveras County Road Superintendent Scott Anderson.

Here are the sand bag locations:

San Andreas Road Yard, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas
Jenny Lind Road Yard, 11558 Milton Road, Valley Springs
Valley Springs Fitness Center Parking Lot, Hwy 26, Valley Springs
Near Dr. Duhamel Family Dentistry, 313 Vista Del Lago Drive, Valley Springs
Glencoe Road Yard, 16151 Hwy 26, Glencoe
Murphys Fire Dept., 37 Jones Street, Murphys
Arnold Road Yard, 1191 Line Baugh Road, Arnold (by the fence clearly marked for the public)

Arnold also wants to remind people to be ready for power outages. He says, "Especially the people in the high country, Arnold area. We are expecting high winds and a substantial amount of rain so the weekenders who come up there are here to have fun and they are not worried about the power so they actually should bring some radios and batteries and listen and monitor what is going on out there weather wise."
