Santa Claus meets with children at Clarke Broadcasting's Santa Fly-In Food, Coat and Cash Drive for Interfaith
Sonora, CA --Several events to spread holiday cheer are scheduled around the Mother Lode.
Tune into Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN on Thursday and Friday morning to help a great cause. An on-air pledge drive will begin on both Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN from 6-10am tomorrow morning. 100 percent of all donations will go to Interfaith Social Services to help local residents in need. The goal is to raise over $35,000, as demand has never been higher. In 2011, the event for Interfaith raised a total of $30,006 in community cash donations, 840 coats and 3,500 lbs. of food that helped them meet local needs for several months. Peacock says, "It certainly is a wonderful event."

On Saturday, residents and businesses can join the cause and drop food and coat collections at Standard Park from 9am-1pm. Santa will arrive at 11am by helicopter courtesy of PHI Air Medical. It is also a chance for parents to take photos of their kids with Santa.
