Sonora, CA - A soggy several days in Northern California as two storms are moving in to the area. The first storm will bring high winds. The National Weather Service has issued Wind advisory for the Mother Lode until 4pm today. The second storm comes with a Flood Watch for the Mother Lode and the Sierra Nevada from Thursday through Sunday. Tuolumne County Administration Analyst Tracie Riggs says the county is offering sand to prepare for possible flooding.

Riggs says, "We have sand available in Tuolumne City on Birch Street and Baker Avenue, in Jamestown on 7th and 8th Avenue and in the Columbia Airport Parking Lot. The sand is located outside of fence gates at all three locations." Riggs notes, "There are shovels out there, but you do need to bring your own bags."

Two other locations are Chestnut Avenue fire station in Tuolumne City and the Big Oak Flat Yard near Groveland. Riggs says residents need to get a key from Groveland Fire Department for this pile.
