The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Mother Lode and the Sierra Nevada from Wednesday morning through late Saturday.
Two wet and windy storm systems will move through northern California. The first one will arrive Wednesday. It is expected to bring eleven inches of snow accumulation above 8000 feet.
The second storm will impact the region from Thursday evening through the weekend.
Snow levels will range from 7000 through 7500 feet.
A Flood Watch means that there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Flooding is expected near smaller creeks and streams. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
Before the storms arrive, widespread patchy fog will affect the central valley on Tuesday morning.
When encountering a fog patch, slow down, put your headlights on low beam and leave extra stopping distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
