Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls

During this dry year, it has been a rarity to see Yosemite's roaring waterfalls.
Yosemite Falls and Bridalveil Fall are flowing for the first time since mid-July. The park has had its driest year on record since 2007. Over the weekend, snow levels remained at around 8,000 ft. in the park, and Yosemite Valley had about two inches of rain.
"To see Bridalveil Fall going so strong is such a beautiful sight," says Park Superintendent Don Neubacher. "After such a dry period, seeing the waterfalls flowing again is spectacular."
Tioga Pass and Glacier Point Road in Yosemite remain closed at this time, but officials say the roads will be reassessed over the coming days.
