Chains Required On Passes

Sonora-Tioga Passes CLOSED

The winter storm has closed all the passes and Caltrans is calling for chains on certain stretches on those roadways.
Highway 108 Sonora Pass is closed at Kennedy Meadows. Chains or snow tires are needed at Standard Road in Sonora. Highway 120 Tioga Pass is shutdown at Crane Flat. Chains or snow tires are needed at Big Oak Flat. Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass is shutdown at the Mount Reba Turnoff. Chains or 4-wheel drive are needed at Forrest Meadows. Also, you must have chains or 4-wheel drive to travel on Highway 88.
