South Lake Tahoe, CA - The Associated Press reports Alpine County authorities have confirmed that 14-year-old Taylor Dustin of Angels Camp froze to death.

Search crews discovered Dustin's body on October 23 in a wilderness area bordering the Eldorado and Stanislaus National Forests near Steve Nott Camp in the Mokelumne Wilderness. Dustin along with his uncle, 40-year-old Devin Smith of Douglas Flat got lost when a snowstorm slammed the area.  The area received 18 inches of snow in just two days.

Smith was found first. He was suffering from severe hypothermia and air ambulanced to a hospital for treatment. Dustin's body was found three hours later and he had succumbed to the cold.

Devin was also rescued by Search and Rescue crews in October of 2009 while hunting in Calaveras County.
